The M200 Motor is essentially the T200 Thruster, but designed to be used in more generic applications. With a propeller, it’s a great propulsor for unmanned surface vessels (USVs) and unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), but it can also be used to build subsea tooling, drive a gear-train, or whatever you can imagine!
Check out this subsea rotary cleaning brush that we built as an example application!
Like the T200 Thruster, the M200 Motor is a flooded three-phase brushless motor. The motor stator is encapsulated and electrically isolated from the water and the magnet rotor is coated and made from stainless steel to make it resistant to seawater corrosion. The motor uses high-performance water-lubricated plastic bushings and is water-cooled as water flows through the motor.
The M200 Motor has a base with four M3 mounting holes to secure it in a wide range of applications. The standard version comes with a 1 meter long cable and the BlueBoat version has a shorter cable with pre-installed cable penetrator and an MT60 connector ready to install on the BlueBoat!
A sensorless brushless electronic speed controller (ESC) like our Basic ESC is required to run the motor in all situations. It’s optimized to run at a voltage of 16v (such as a 4s lithium-ion battery pack), but can run at a range of voltages. Operation of the motor is identical to the thruster, so check out any of our thruster application guides for more information on how to operate the motor as well!
