This potted cable penetrator makes a waterproof, high-pressure seal to pass the thruster cable into a watertight enclosure. Each set includes a bulkhead, o-ring, and nut. Some assembly required.

These are our old penetrators! Check out our WetLink Penetrators.
SKU: PENETRATOR-VP
HS Code: 7616.10.7030

Product Description

This potted cable penetrator is a simple solution to waterproofing your robot. It’s basically a bolt with a hole that the thruster cable can be glued (potted) into to provide a waterproof connection through watertight enclosures, boxes, panels, etc.

We recommend the Loctite Marine Epoxy and the Potting Kit to complete assembly.

Features

  • Anodized aluminum construction for corrosion resistance and high strength
  • Captive O-ring face seal that works on any smooth surface
  • Wrench flats for easy tightening
  • Multiple inner diameters to secure the cable jacket but leave room for potting compound

The depth capacity of a potted penetrator is dependent on the strength of the bond between the potting compound, the cable jacket, and the aluminum walls of the penetrator. The strength of these bonds is affected by a variety of factors, including the materials involved and their chemical compatibilities, surface treatment of the sealing surfaces, presence of impurities such as dirt, skin oils, etc. that can reduce bond strength, quality and age of potting compounds, temperature and pressure during potting and curing, etc. For these reasons, we can't provide an official depth rating for a general-purpose and user-sealed product like a potted penetrator.
