Most subsea projects use cylindrical pressure vessels because of their efficient ability to handle high pressures, but sometimes it’s more convenient to use a box! The rectangular shapes means they are heavier for the same depth rating, but boxes…
- are easier to mount PCBs and rectangular objects inside
- don’t require additional trays for mounting
- provide a direct heat sinking path for hot electronics
These boxes are available in two different sizes for different applications. Each of them consists of a box and lid made from anodized 6061-T6 aluminum. The lid seals to the box with a radial O-ring and is held in place using a plastic locking cord, like our cylindrical enclosures. That means there are no screws and the box can be opened and closed in just a few seconds!
