While we love the networking and community-building of traditional trade shows (and wouldn’t have a lot of the relationships we have today without them), we were ready to let our hair down and hang out. We decided it was time to take the extras out and get back to basics.

We created an event that was more our style: approachable, easy-going, fun, and on us! A space where we could harness the power of a casual connection, where a relaxed conversation can lead to real innovation and change. This is not just a stiff business card exchange, it’s a place where people who might not normally have the opportunity to connect are able to relax after an event and chat about their work… or something else they’re into.

Our first blueTIDES was a three day event in Los Angeles, CA. We had a workshop, keynote speakers, flash talks, and an open house to cap it off. The attendees were jazzed and the feeling was mutual. Since then, we’ve hosted smaller versions of the first blueTIDES, but we’ve also created blueTIDES After Dark, a happy hour event planned around an already-existing event. It’s the perfect place to grab a drink and hang out!

blueTIDES will create the next generation of networking events, where values between organizers and attendees align and everyone has a killer time, in a laid-back space, exploring the future of the Blue Economy. TIDES is not just an event, it’s an experience.
