The California Seaweed Festival arose from the decades of studying seaweeds, admiring their beauty and learning myriad ways that seaweeds make life better. The festival invites researchers, innovators, chefs, and ocean advocates for a day of talks, demos, seaweed tastings, and hands-on exploration of the science, culture, and more!
This year, California Seaweed Fest will be taking place on October 24th at the Old Custom House Plaza in Monterey, and there is no better place for it. Monterey Bay is one of the most biodiverse marine ecosystems on Earth. Its underwater forests of kelp and other seaweeds support an incredible web of life, from sea otters to abalone to the communities that steward this coast.
We will also be teaming up with the California Seaweed Festival to host a blueTIDES After Dark at Lucy’s on Lighthouse! Join us for a free evening of food, drinks, friends, and lighthearted debate at our “hot takes” wall. Join us on October 23 form 5:30-8:30pm!
